Each activity at Trinity United Church is designed to help individuals grow into the unique persons that they were created to be by God. We work at providing appropriate training programs for people so that they may deal effectively and resourcefully with the myriad of challenges and opportunities they may encounter in living a Christian life both at a congregational and community level. By caring for those who are a part of our church and community families, we offer hope, encouragement and support that strengthens the cohesiveness of our bond together.
We believe that each person in our congregation has a unique talent that may or may not be apparent. We will endeavor to create programs to allow creativity and enthusiasm to blossom.
We believe that the organizational structure of our church must be flexible and responsive to meet the changing conditions of our congregation and community. During '97 and '98 in addition to replacing the church roof, Trinity built an accessibility addition. This addition addresses the changing condition of our congregation and community. It contains a modern elevator which provides total access to the church for those who may be physically challenged. We are committed to reaching out beyond the membership of our church to all people in all places. We will support the agencies and programs working with the disadvantaged and work towards the needs of all generations both individually and by working with those of other faiths in our community.
HELPING INDIVIDUALS GROW INTO THEIR FULL POTENTIAL
Our primary focus at Trinity is to help each individual grow into the full potential of what they were created to be. It is never too late to begin the journey. To this end, we work to help people discover and utilize their own unique gifts and abilities, as well as to discover together that real change comes through renewed thinking. Most importantly, we believe that incredible things can be achieved by every individual as we learn to tap into the resources of God and the strength of God's Spirit with us.
MEANINGFUL WORSHIP
The key activity of the week is when we gather together for worship on Sunday. The music combines both traditional and contemporary songs that praise God and celebrate the great themes of our faith. The messages are aimed at being both thought-provoking and inspirational. There is a warm atmosphere that is welcoming to all.
GROWING DEEP AND LASTING RELATIONSHIPS
At Trinity we believe that part of being fulfilled as humans is in the relationships we form. Therefore special attention is given, through smaller groups, to the growing of deep and lasting relationships. As a church family our aim is to reach out in care and love one for another in the true Spirit of Jesus. There is always room for another one at the table. Similarly, we aim to nurture families in the areas of marriage enrichment, parenting, singles and seniors
CHILDREN
Children are very important to us at Trinity. For example, Sunday School at Trinity is a very unique and a lot of fun. It takes place during the second half of the worship service. We offer a Nursery and classes for all school age children and youth. Our staff of children's workers are dedicated and creative. They truly love children, and work each Sunday to bring about a program that is Biblical, challenging and interesting for them. During the worship service, a special time is always set aside for the children before they go to Sunday School .
