A
Vision for Trinity in the 21st Century
Our
Purpose...
Our church is a community of people who care for one another and reach
out to others through our Christian faith.
-We
celebrate Gods love through Worship, Music, and Fellowship for young and old
alike.
-We
affirm Gods love by being active participants and leaders in the daily work
and life of the Church.
-We
are committed to share Gods love by serving our neighbours
in the local community and abroad.
Our
Vision...
Trinity United Church is a diverse and growing Christian fellowship of
people who support one another and their community through the commitment of
its talents to joyfully worshiping and spreading God's Word, and through
service to the community and the world.
Our
Mission...
Through
Worship...
We endeavor to celebrate God's love through worship, music, and
fellowship in a variety of ways that welcome all people and nurture a sense of
belonging. We seek to be open to a wide variety of styles of worship, while at
the same time being faithful to the basic tenets of our faith. We are called
by our faith to celebrate God's grace through the sacraments of Baptism and
Communion, and the forgiveness and reconciliation of our sins in ways that
reflect the Bible as revealing God's Holy and Living Word which gives meaning
and direction to our ministry
Through
Christian Development...
We are called to nurture people in Christian living through Bible and
other studies, so that all people, regardless of age, are given the means to
spiritually grow as disciples of Jesus Christ. We are committed to providing a
diversity of styles and opportunities so that all may participate in Christian
education and teaching all to live in faith and to profess our Christian faith
in all aspects of our lives.
Through
Pastoral Care...
We are called to reach out and engage all persons and situations we
encounter, offering our comfort, encouragement, and support. We are committed
to providing appropriate training programs for both the ministry and lay
people so that they may deal effectively and resourcefully with the myriad of
challenges and opportunities they may encounter. By caring for those who are a
part of our church family, we offer hope, encouragement, and support to all
who are our fellow disciples in Christ, and strengthen the cohesiveness of our
bond together.
Through
Outreach...
We are not alone; we live in God's world. We are committed to reaching
out beyond the membership and fellowship of the church to all God's people in
all places; in our community and country, and in the world, offering God's
gracious love in response to humanity's needs, isolation, and search for
meaning. We will support the agencies and programs working with the
disadvantaged, and work towards the needs of all the generations in our
community. Our commitment extends to working with other faiths in our
community, for by working with others we may demonstrate our belief that every
human being as a child of God is entitled to the respect and honour
due them in the ministry of Christ.
Through
Our Church...
We believe that each person in our Congregation has a unique God given
talent that may be apparent or may be hidden. We will endeavour
to create programs to utilize each person's unique gifts to allow their
natural creativity and enthusiasm to blossom. Dynamic committees will be
formed that will be able to change form and function according to the changing
needs of the congregation and committee members. Only through a vital and
dynamic organizational structure can our church rapidly respond to changing
conditions in our community and congregation. The organizational structure of
the church must be flexible and responsive, yet remain within the boundaries
outlined by our constitution and the guidelines of the United Church of
Canada.
